Jacob Bray had realized a performance where he reflected on the status of women in the theatre. Jacob worked closely with five young female performers, was assisted by theatre director Gildas Aleksa, a scenographer and a costume designer. Jacob also worked collaboratively with a young film-maker who helped him produce video clips for the performance and documentary videos of the residency.

Jacob Bray is a British dancer, performer and choreographer who carried out a residency with the Kaunas Biennial. In his work he incorporates elements of dance and theatre investigating topics such as female empowerment, nightlife, equality and not being held by restrictions of style or genre. During his residence, and for its final performance, Jacob attempted to get acquainted with and shed light on the current cultural and social climate in Lithuania and Europe. He examined the position of women in society, taking particular interest in the professional status of female performers on stage and in the performing arts in general, working closely with several local professionals. Five young female performers, a theatre director (Gildas Aleksa), a scenographer, a costume designer, a filmmaker and several interviews with strong female personalities in the cultural sector helped the artist turn the project and performance, entitled Laundry, into an illustration of female life in the cultural sphere.
In the video-documentary, here shown, visitors can retrace the steps of this long and interesting project.
