Her performance included an interactive fête of movement, walks, shared meals, exploration of what has been documented during her residency, inviting to share the experiences, memories, stories and the way people see the place they live in, to rediscover and reconnect. She also realised a field journal that people received during the final walk (documenting movement and peoples’ stories Siobhán collected) and a dance film “Slowly Moving Seaward”, which she produced together with local filmmaker Gemma Riggs.

Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín is an Irish performer who uses film and live performance to develop site-specific projects that analyse the way the human body interacts with the earth and vice versa. Ní Dhuinnín has a multidisciplinary approach and often works in close contact with artists, musicians, geologists, poets and actors.  During her residency with Folkestone Fringe wrote a diary about the tides and the stories she had collected engaging local residents in rediscovering the surrounding territory and the feelings and emotions it evokes and inviting them to share experiences, memories and stories, in order to understand the way people, see the places they live. This dance film produced with the artist Gemma Riggs, entitled Slowly Moving Seaward,  is a reflection on the human relationship with the ecosystem.
