ARTWORK

DINAMO ALWAYS WINS (AND LOSES), 2019

Football table, Flags of Soccer Team, drawings, posters (produced in collaboration with TTNP)

The Austrian artist Matthias Krinzinger carried out a residence at LAB852 in Croatia. His interests and artistic practice are centred on studying social interactions, investigating daily life and using familiar objects that hold connections and memories. Krinzinger developed a project to explore the way sport, football in particular, brings people together, creating moments of interaction, reaction and engagement. The artist set out to examine these relationships and human reactions to football matches by observing a group of young supporters, the Bad Blue Boys, and creating a series of happenings and an interactive installation called Dinamo always wins (and loses). However, because the table football players were coloured all blue, “Dinamo always won (and lost)”. Participants are now  invited to take part in a new table football tournament, complete with rules and awards. Visitors can make their football team win (and lose) by interacting with the table football game.

*Table football tournament led by the artist will take place during the opening

*During visiting time you can play with the table football following the tournament rules
