Latvia

Based on anthropological research methods and with an open mind, by interviews with various members of Georgian society and a profound immersion into the artistic, social and political culture, David attempted to formulate gateways to a more reflective, proactive, grassroot discourse in social and political activism and provide immersive and interactive insight into the quirks and powers of critical thinking and action in order to partake in the further cultural development of the city.

Poster Art

David Prieth is an Austrian artist who focuses his work on socio political themes, languages and different types of installation and performance. All his performances, objects and conceptual works are connected to autobiographical experiences that explore identity, gender and racism. Most of his activities are influenced by concepts like guerrilla communication and political activism. During his residency with CCA – Center of Contemporary Art – Tbilisi, he was interested in creating a dialogue with the local community about the reappropriation of public space, political activism and aesthetic modes of political communication. The artist uses posters introducing  political  and gender issues to seize a public space in the city of Kaunas with the attempt to lay the foundation for a conversation on social and political activism. He provides an interactive viewpoint of the potential for critical thoughts.
